1. What kinds of information do we collect from you?

When you sign up for a floo.network account, or in order to use certain aspects of the website, some or all of the following information may be collected:

Additionally, whilst using the floo.network website, any associated websites and sub-domains, some or all of the following information may be collected:

• To Improve and Secure the Website
We collect your e-mail address to provide you with a user account and the ability to reset your password. We collect your date of birth to ensure you are of age to use our service. We collect IP addresses to prevent security threats from compromising your data and the data of other users. We also use IP addresses to stop unsolicited advertising and other kinds of spam.  

• To Provide Forum Functionalities
IP addresses of computers used to visit floo.network and any associated websites and sub-domains are stored in our database. This includes when first registering for an account, managing your account details, writing a private or public message or performing any other transaction which results in data being transferred to or from your computer and the website in question.

• To Customize Your Website Experience
We use cookies to determine if your user account is logged in, logged our or banned from accessing our service. We also use cookies to determine how many users are currently online. Cookies may also be used to store user preferences (such as collapsing a board from view) for users not currently logged in.

When you register for this website you will have the opportunity to also opt into promotional communications regarding our service (such as schedules for roleplay activity or plot summaries). This Website contains features that allow you to upload, post, transmit, display, perform or distribute content, including personal information about yourself. For example, you may choose to include personal information within your floo.network profile, which is available and accessible to all visitors of the Website. Any information that you choose to disclose by means of such features becomes public information over which floo.network is unable to exercise control. You should exercise caution when deciding to disclose personal information by means of such features.

4. Who do we share your information with?

• Information Shared with Forum Users
When you join, access, or post on floo.network your information may be shared with other members (such as forum moderators, administrators, or other users), including the content you posted, your IP address, email address and birthdate (unless set to "private" by you). Your IP and email address will only ever be visible to moderators and administrators but will not be shared with general users or the general public.

• Information Shared with Third-Party Partners
Floo.network does not maintain its own servers, but uses a hosting service provided by Gray Web Host. Gray Web Host will security store floo.network's database and all information contained therein. In order for you to view our website we will also share your browsing metadata with Gray Web Host.

• Information Shared to Comply with the Law and Legal Process
Floo.network may share some or all of your data if we are legally required or forced to do so, such as a police request, a court order or a special (law enforcement) agency that has received a lawful right to request data from us. We may also share your data when floo.network, in its sole discretion, believes that disclosure is necessary to report, address or prevent fraud or other illegal activity or misconduct, or to protect the property or rights of floo.network.

• Information Shared in Case of Lack of Parental Consent
In the event that you are underage and despite our warnings and terms and conditions signed up to our services without consent of your parent(s)/guardian, we are allowed to share your data with your parent(s)/guardian or other legal representative.

5. How do we secure your information?

We are committed to ensuring that any information you provide to floo.network is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we use SSL to communicate between the user and the server and do not store passwords in plain text. We host our services with secure data centre facilities.

6. How can you manage information we've collected from you?

You can manage the content and information you share by logging into your account and accessing your profile area.

7. How can you delete your account?

You can request deletion of your account from any time either through our contact form or by approaching a member of the floo.network staff team. When requesting deletion, your account will be placed in a cool down status, during which we will finalise the removal of personally identifiable information with you. Your public postings including your username will not be deleted since this would destroy the conversational flow that is inherent to a floo.network. It is your responsibility to ensure that your postings and username do not contain personally identifiable information, but our staff will assist you with pseudonymisation and individual posting deletions if necessary. Once deletion has been requested floo.network are under no obligation to allow you continued use of our service. Floo.network is also under no obligation to restore your account on request after a successfully completed account deletion.

8. How can you request your data?

From your profile area you will be able to download your saved data to your PC. This will include your personal information, post, attachments in so far as it does not violate the privacy rights of other service users.

9. What about third-party websites?

Floo.network, any associated websites and sub-domains, may contain or embed links to other websites. These websites may or may not be affiliated with floo.network.

Floo.network has no control over any external websites therefore clicking any link which results in you visiting an external website will result in this privacy policy no longer applying and floo.network cannot be held responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites.

10. How do we notify you of changes to the Privacy Policy?

As a registered user we will notify you when our policy changes. Otherwise, please keep checking back this page to stay current with any changes.
